Walking Mad & Other Works

Ballet BC
On their first tour to The ACT since 2007, this exquisite contemporary ballet company brings us two world premiers and the Canadian Premier Walking Mad. Internationally acclaimed Ballet BC is a recognized leader of contemporary work. Bold, innovative, and sophisticated, the high calibre and diversity of Ballet BC's dancers makes this company breathtaking to watch. Walking Mad features award winning choreographer Johan Inger's splendid work for nine dancers; three women and six men intent on a hilarious mission of repeatedly knocking over a fene as large as the stage puts audiences in fits of giggles.
The two other works are by Aszure Barton, one of Canada's leading choreographers who has created for Mikhail Baryshnikov, The National Ballet of Canada, the American Ballet Theatre; and Ballet BC's Artistic Director, Emily Molnar. Internationally respected and critically acclaimed choreographer Molnar creates a new full-company work that explores the boundaries of the expressive body in time and space.
