The Songwriters Association of Canada (SAC) and the Vancouver Regional Writers Group presents SongStage at the ACT. SongStage is an open mic session where songwriters get to perform their original songs in front of an audience.
 
Canadian musician and songwriter, Ivan Boudreau, hosts the evenings' mix of eclectic musicians & facilitates discussion on the art and craft of the songwriting process and how to develop live performance skills.

January 12 - Is our economic system doomed?
What could replace it? How?
 
February 9 - Democracy
Does democracy mean telling politicians, “Promise anything, but once you’reelected, do what you want?” What system, if any, would be better?
 
March 8 - Oppression
Can we oppose oppression without demonizing the oppressor? Would we oppress people in circumstances similar to an oppressor’s?
 
April 12 - The sacred
Can we distinguish the sacred from spirituality and both from religion? What role should the sacred play in our culture?
 
May 10 - Our education system
Is our education system failing because schools are modern institutions that teach postmodern students?
