Brigitta Kocsis’ work is a refreshing series of acrylic figurative nude paintings.  These paintings are a part of a series titled, “Threshold” started in 2004.  The works are based on various snapshots of psychological transitions.  The artist explores the limitations of both abstract and representative work with it landing squarely in the space between the two.

The images the artist uses are from the Internet, advertisements, books, magazines, etc. She creates her own painted snapshots where she removes the background and replaces the figures with images of her own body.
