Please mark your calendars and join Emerald Pig Theatrical Society for this exciting, free community event we call Bard on the Bandstand, taking place in Memorial Peace Park in Maple Ridge, on July 26-28. Over 50 actors, singers and assistants are now in rehearsal for this amazing show! As You Like It is one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies - a complex romantic fairytale that features disguises and changes in identity, set against the harsh, cold world of men and the pastoral beauty of Mother Nature. Life and love and true character are revealed and, in the end, everyone lives happily ever after. Just as you like it!

One of our goals with this event is to “give back” to the community and what better way than by partnering with the Friends in Need food bank at a time of year when the stock on the shelves is low but the need is still high. All patrons coming to the park on July 26-28, are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food donation for Friends in Need – and WIN an opportunity to be King and Queen of the day! Bard on the Bandstand hopes to become a yearly event and that Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadowscontinues to embrace and support the arts – the heart of a healthy community!
