It’s time to “turn it loud” in Maple Ridge, as Rock.It Boy Entertainment presents classic rock stars HEADPINS and HARLEQUIN along with special guest LAST DAYS LOST.
The HEADPINS have always been one of rock's greatest live outfits. They've brought the roof down touring constantly for over 20 years sharing the stage with KISS, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Whitesnake, and so many more. Originally formed by Brian MacLeod and Ab Bryant as a sort of 'side project' from Chilliwack, the group was rounded out by drummer Bernie Aubin and Darby Mills, one of the west coast's hottest new singers. Their impact was immediate even before they'd landed a record deal - the band's live magnetism was rivalled by few and they soon became one of the hottest commodities in Canadian rock.
Mills' style became known as the growl and would go on to lead the charge in their energized live show. "Don't It Make Ya Feel" and “Turn It Loud” turned the FM stations upside down. The albums and hits kept coming while band members also pursued side projects. The untimely loss of guitarist Brian “Too Loud” MacLeod to cancer lead to a long hiatus, but the HEADPINS re-formed in 2002 with the re-release of their classic 1982 debut album. The Headpins are the chief instructors in the school of rock - and class is in session.
On their own HEADPINS is a great show, but they’re joined by HARLEQUIN for this concert to create a Canadian classic rock double-header. HARLEQUIN was formed in Winnipeg in the mid-seventies, and worked hard for every break that came their way, soldiering through multiple gruelling Cross-Canada tours, and backing up such bands as Triumph, Streetheart, April Wine, Pat Benatar and Saga. Their first album yielding radio hits like “Sweet Things in Life”, “You are the Light” and “Survive”. But it was the second album Love Crimes in 1982 that featured HARLEQUIN’s biggest hit “Innocence”, as well as “Thinking Of You”. The band still tours, gaining new fans all the time, and attracting anyone who loves Canadian rock at it's finest.
