Join Artist in Residence Nigel Harvey as he hosts guest independent film maker and instructor Rick Palidwor from Toronto. Rick will show clips from his award winning feature film 'Sleep Always' and discuss some of his techniques on production planning, film making; directing, screen play development, sound and film editing, as well as how to market the finished product.
Rick is a native of BC now living and working in Toronto. He is a former radio comedian (Trouser Park/CBC) who has been making films and videos since 1993. His body of work spans comedy, experimental and documentary and over 50 shorts have been licensed to broadcasters in Canada and abroad. His dramatic feature Sleep Always has played in festivals around the world. He teaches movie-making at George Brown College and Hart House (University of Toronto) . His production company is called Friendly Fire Productions.

Saturday December 15th,
10am to 4pm
30 minute lunch break.
Learn how to shoot and edit a short movie sequence under the guidance of a professional. All students will act and operate the camera, applying professional directing techniques. Students will edit their sequence themselves with instructor guidance. No experience necessary.
Maximum 12 students:
Cost: $25.00 per student
(Auditor's fee-observing only. $15.00, limited to 5 students)
Duration: 10am-4pm Bring a lunch.
Place: The ACT, 2D Studio
We will supply two digital camera's (one camera per six students), projector, DVD tapes and editing equipment.
Copies of the 'finished' work will be available to the participants, they must supply their own DVD for copying purposes. |
