Wood: Naturally Inspired

A juried group exhibit highlighting outstanding works of art in wood, from October 20 – November 24, 2007 at the Maple Ridge Art Gallery.

The Maple Ridge Art Gallery is pleased to present the work of eighteen outstanding artists and artisans working in the media of wood. Art works from BC and Alberta were received and juried, resulting in samples of some of the best talent working in the media of wood. Over thirty nine art works will be presented in this exhibit.

Visitors will be pleasantly surprised with the selection of sculptural, functional, whimsical and suggestive works, ranging in scale from miniature to larger than life size. This exhibit highlights the inherent qualities and versatility of wood through the eyes of emerging and mid career artists. Visitors will experience highly sophisticated and imaginative pieces inspired by found wood, traditions, geography and utility.

Come and meet some of the artists at the opening on the 20th of October from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
