The Maple Ridge Concert Band is pleased to announce the second of many fundraising events for the 2007-2008 season. "Sailing the Seven Seas" is the theme for the double combined concert with the Abbotsford Concert Band. The first concert will have the Maple Ridge Concert Band play host to the Abbotsford Concert Band on Tuesday, March 11th, 2008 at 7:30pm at the ACT Maple Ridge.
The Abbotsford Concert Band is conducted by Shannon Goldsmith and has been a popular adult community concert band for 45 years. They will host the Maple Ridge Concert Band on Sunday April 20th, 2008 at 2:30pm at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium in Abbotsford.
At the pre-Christmas concert event on Tuesday, November 27th,2007 " A Holiday Concert " the Maple Ridge Concert Band played host to the Maple Ridge Choral Society. This successful concert was well attended and the band is looking forward to hosting future combined performances with many different groups.
The Maple Ridge Concert Band is an active community organized musical band that has welcomed many adult and student musicians since 1946. Conducted by Ed Dumas, they are readily seen performing at local parades, Remembrance Day, Hospital and Community events, Canada Day and the ever popular Twilight Tuesdays in the Bandstand.
The funds raised through these events will go towards supporting our ongoing programs and possible travel opportunities.
