Main Gallery

The Main Gallery Space is a large area which is suited to a large body of work, with a cohesive and strong theoretical or thematic structure. It is our main support system for educational guided tours and workshops, as well as fundraising. We plan for approximately eight exhibits annually in this space.

 



Where:  the main floor of The ACT building

 

Size: Approximately 1,440 square feet, with 100 linear feet of wall space and can accommodate from one to five of our portable walls. Each portable wall measures 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep by 8 feet high. With a ceiling height of 11.5 feet this space can provide a channel for large sculptures, installations, and 2D works.

 

Floor: The flooring is covered in a neutral, low nap commercial style Berber carpet, and the

 

Lighting: the gallery provides multiple lighting sources, such as spot and fluorescent. There are also two large 11 H x 5 W windows with a natural light source that can be controlled with solid roller blinds and Venetian blinds.


 

Work exhibited in the Main Gallery is accessible to the public during gallery hours of operation and special events presented in the building.

 

Please include in your exhibition proposal the following:

+ A cover letter summarizing interests pursued in your work and a clear statement of your intention.

+ Biographical outline of your education, career, exhibition history and contact information.

+ Articles or reviews that have been published about your work.

+ An artist statement that covers your work, methods and techniques and reasons for making and exhibiting your work.

    + Slides, photographs, or CD documentation with accompanying labeling of media, dimensions and title of work.

    + A self addressed stamped envelope with enough postage to return your proposal. We do not keep material or pay the cost of return shipping.
